She did it!
I did it!
Well, I did it you guys. I ran my first marathon, the Sacramento Marathon, on Sunday. I ran all 26.2 miles, I didn't walk any of it. (I did pee 4 times. Those of you who know me expect nothing less than excellence of this sort.)
I was slower than I wanted, but it was my first and I did it. My husband was there and rode his bike by me for parts of the last 6 miles and it really helped. He's so cool [awwww.].
I did it! Part II
I also finished "Kate with sleeves" or "Pull Femme 4A." I had a HUGE neckband issue and of course I will be happy to share the sordid details next time. In picture pages format. ( Time to get your crayons and your pencils.) Anyway, here's a peek.

I love the buttons, I forgot I had them. I used three of 'em, cause three were cuter than one.
Also also wic.
And here's a Klaralund sleeve (the front and back are done and sewn together, yay!!!).

Oh, if my hair could be this color. Haha, it has been!
And here's the secret scarf, I knit at least 16 inches watching the Dune remake on DVD. LOVE IT (Ok, Heather, I know you liked the 80s one better. And it did have Kyle Maclachlan - yummy! - but I really dig the new one.)

Do you think this is done? (name that movie quote!)
Rachel Rocks.
And lastly today, look what Rachel sent me!!!!! Rachel, you ROCK.

How super fun. I love the patterns. There goes the yarn diet (just kidding, honey!) (no, I'm not. Shhh.)

That is SO weird, someone was just telling me about Dune today because I have never heard of it. Your Kate looks great! I am eagerly awaiting all the nasty details about the neckband because I had major problems too and I am going to need to redo it someday. You have inspired me to stop wasting all my time online and get back to knitting!

That is so awesome! What was your PR for the race? If it's over 6 hours, I'm really impressed. :) Glad you liked the mag.
Kate looks beautissimo. The three buttons are very pretty, too.

Congratulations on the race! Most excellent!! And I'm a fan of the new Dune as well . . .

OK ... so I probably shouldn't be asking this here - but you can delete it if you have to ... what happens with the pissing thing when you are running a marathon? Me thinks that there weren't porta-loos. Please just treat this as the sort of clinical, pragmatic question that any reasonable Alex would ask at stitch 'n bitch!!
And of course ... congratulations on the marathon lovie!! Wish I were there to run the last 3 miles with you - because that is all I am good for!

Thanks you guys! I feel pretty good about it all. And Alex, there were plenty of port-a-loo's as you call them, which is my new favorite name for them. ;-)

Congratulations to you on finishing the marathon. What a wonderful accomplishment!
Your Kate sweater is lovely. I love the design, and the color choice. Your Klaralund is also coming along very nicely.
Have a great weekend! :)
