My mother-in-law is insane.
OK, not really, but she is standing here and told me to write it. And she is still worried my husband has West Nile. Go figure. When I'm a mother, I will understand, or so she tells me.
Anyhoo.
For those of you who think I have died or something, in fact I am quite alive and now in Tulsa, OK, with family. We have one more leg of our cross-country trek from California to Georgia, and we should arrive there late on the 30th.
Supposedly, we have a house, and the stuff is on a truck on it's way there. Our animals are with us.
Much consternation was caused by my deciding what knitting to bring, and what to leave for the movers, and this was VERY STRESSFUL as you out there can imagine. But, of course, in the end I brought far too much ;-)
High Energy Dork.
Even sillier, I inadvertantly packed the cable for my camera, so even though I have a TON of knitting and travelling pictures, they are inaccessible at the moment. Sigh.
BUT! I have been knitting.
1) I finished my friend's Conwy socks.
2) I finished a secret present for a blog-knitting friend - if she sends a pic I'll post it. YOU KNOW who you are ;-)
3) I finished Melanie's mittens-turned-gloves. Since my computer died the pattern was not accessible but I think the computer gurus recovered it.
4) I have most of a new set of socks done for my friend Leonie.
5) I am about 1/3 way or more through Clapotis by the fabulous Kate.
Kate's patterns are outstanding. Do try some. I will show a pic of this fantastic scarf soon.
6) Lastly, I am working on a poncho (yes, I gave in. Welcome me, fellow poncho knitters, to your bandwagon! Yee haw!). This is, of course, the Harlot Poncho. I'm using Silky Wool which I LOVE. It started out as something else, but more on that fiasco later.
In closing...
So, no pics, people. And I am really sorry because I HATE to post without pictures, truly I do, that's why you read it, isn't it???? But I am screwed. The men packed the camera cable. They probably carefully wrapped it in paper first. I'm sure I will find it several months from now. Until then...
Next post! From Georgia.
SUCK.
Hello all. So the reason I haven't posted is that my computer DIED. As in will not turn on. At all. No noise, no sound, NADA.
Now it's in the shop, and I am sharing my husband's laptop.
You can only IMAGINE how that is going.
Anyhoo.
SO anyway, thanks to everyone for the nice comments on my hair. I am really liking it.
I had to say goodbye to my best friends where I work. It was really sad. Sniff. But here's a pic of some of my buddies and me. Note Klaralund.

We leave for Hawaii in a few hours so no posts for about a week. If you have a blog I read regularly but don't hear from me in the next bit, don't be offended. I am as frustrated by my lack of internet as you are ;-)
Paul, a little hair cutting music, please...
I chopped off my hair. It was SO time. It was all dead from frequent coloring, and I really like it. I don't like to put pics of me on the blog, but here's the new do. Be kind, it's a lame arm-outstretched-taking-my-own-picture picture.

Four more years...
Well. I wish I had something uplifting to say about the election, but I just don't. No offense to the Replicans and conservatives out there. But I just see things very differently, and I think we are a country making decisions based on fear - fear of the "other" - other religions, other ethnicities, other sexual preferences, other skin colors. Somehow, people need to not be afraid of what is different from them, but how does that happen? No more fear, everybody. Don't buy the hype; think for yourselves. End of soapbox. Over and out.
Next time we return to our regularly scheduled knitting.
