Hey all. Just a quick update on a couple o' things.
1) Nona is a new blogger whose blog I really enjoy! She's a great knitter with great tips. Check her out!
2) General Ginger, another cool new-ish blogger, is having a little contest for a copy of Stitch & Bitch Nation, so run right over there and check it out! The entry involves the coolest yarn - from camels! CAMELS!
3) When I told my hubby about the yarn from camels, and that I want yarn made from camel hair, he said I should make good use of all the extra cat hair around here. He thinks he is sooo funny.

My husband would say the same thing about the dog hair around this place. Too bad I can't finish anything I start...

I have a scarf made out of camel hair yarn (long story, but it was a gift from a Mongolian woman who had a herd of camels) and it is less appealing than you might think. Probably in however it was prepared, but it's quite scratchy.
And I hear you on the cat hair, although I only have shorthairs now, so I could probably only get a few sweaters before I would have to wait for them to shed more.

it's not as funny as you think... DOg hair yarn is called "Chiengora" (Chien is french for dog, and is pronounce "shyang", so "Chiengora" is "shyangora". One of the members of the knitters' guild I'm a member of spins and knits with it.
