Goofy Music Makes Me Happy.
Random fact.
Some of my favorite songs have either 1) handclaps ("I Don't Wanna Know" by Fleetwood Mac) 2) a portion where the background part drops dramatically out ("Something About You" by Boston) 3) or nonsense sounds instead of words ("uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh" in "The Breakup Song" by the Greg Kihn Band).
I think it's important you all know this. In case there is ever a television tribute show. Best to be prepared, really.
Don't you just love good music? Whatever it is for you, the kind that makes you dance around the house and sing not caring a whit how silly you look? That makes you smile, you just can't help it? I love that feeling. Best thing in the world. I would give anything to have a soundtrack to my blog entries. Just wait.
Stop Stalling, Sister.
Yeah, yeah. Lots and lots of updates today. In lieu of humor, because I'm tapped out.
1) Progress has been made on the ever-boring socks for my husband. I just can't get excited about gray men's socks. Despite the snide commentary that someone uses to drop hints now and then: "Gosh, my feet are cold." Yes, I buy that. It's 80°F in GA these days. Riiiiiight.

2) Rather than finish them, here's a new thing I've started - the "Flowerbasket" Shawl in IK. I blame Carrie, really. She started me on it. ;-)
I am using Mountain Colors "Mountain Goat".

I think that it will need many more repeats than the pattern states though. Might block it midway in progress to see how much it will stretch. What do you peeps think of a midway block? I thought I'd wet it down and pin it with either a spare thread or still on the needles.
3) I also started my Honeymoon Cami. I blame Julia for this. Fine, go ahead and write a great timeless pattern. When I have tons to knit. Fine. See if I care, lady!
Er. I digress.

Anyway, the yarn is Klaus Koch "Clip" and I love it more than life itself. So smooth, easy to knit, great drape and mildly shimmery but not too much.
As you can see, I put on a different edge, just for giggles. It's from Knitting on the Edge, and if you people play your cards right, I'll get my ass off the sofa and look up the name of the edge pattern. Sometime before I finish it, that is. Oh no, not today.
4) Last, but not least, I am making the "Chevron Scarf" from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I blame my friend Caroline for this, since it's for her.

Of course, right after this I realized it was too small and ripped it. I upgraded from US 0 to US 3 needles. Big difference. Might finish it this year this way.
Well, kids, that's all for now. Lots of good sunny days here. Wish the same to all ya'll.

I love your commentary on music! I happen to also be a sucker for just about any song with clapping. How can you not just get up and clap? My favorite thing about living alone is all the singing and dancing time that it creates on a daily basis.
Oh yeah, and all the knitting looks great, too.

One song that always gets in my head because of the handclaps: Oh Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind...
(I bet that'll be going through your head all day now. Hee hee!)
Knitting is looking good! Finish darling Hub's socks already. And even if it's 100 degrees out MAKE HIM WEAR THEM. Muwaahaaa!

I made a flower basket shawl with the same yarn...
I got seven leaves running down the centre line before the edging began. Yours looks like it will be very beautiful.

Wow- you are a busy girl! I finished the stated number of repeats +1 with the FBS and I am definitely going to add more.
I love that edge you added to the Honeymoon tank!

Steve Miller Band also has a great handclap song... shoot what is the name of that??
The flower basket shawl is calling me as well, I'm going to look for some lace yarn at MDS&W. Where are you all staying?? Anne Marie said you were close to the airport, we are staying at a Marriot in Ft. Meade/Laurel (it was pretty cheap and a half hour away from everything) See you there!!

Well now he's going to have to wear the socks a lot. How do you like Clip? I've never tried it but am always interested by those huge hanks I see and a nice pattern for it in Knitter's Stash.

Isn't that Knitting on the Edge so fantastic? I think it is hard to pick just one edging! Your cami looks great.

Steve Miller clappy song is Take the Money and Run - woo woo woooo! I love dance around the house music. Jacob has a knack for finding these totally rockin' songs, and every now and then I come home to him cleaning with the music blasting... what a lovely sight!
The tank is so beautiful! I really can't wait to see it finished. And that yarn ... DROOL. So soft and pretty. You've got so many awesome projects on the needles right now!! Go on with yo bad self!
You love House... You love House....

I LOVE Mountain Goat - such great colors and so soft! I can't wait to see how your shawl blocks out.

Y. Harlot: THANKS for the help. I thought you had made a shawl in the same yarn. Great minds, ya know...

It's so not fair that you've gotten so much farther than I have on the Honeymoon Cami, when you are working on SO MANY things and I'm only working on one. Tell us your secret, oh wise one!
What ever happened to Honeysuckle? I only ask because I love the picture of it and want to be dissuaded from making it, if that would be for the best...

Lovin' all your knits. I might have to make that cami also. You used a different hem didn't you. Love it!
I am a singing geek. I love music & when I was lots younger I sang to every song & knew all the words. I agree...music makes you happy. I still sing alot but my voise isn't quite as good as it used to be. :-)
