Woe, woe, woe.
So, lately I've been feeling a bit like, oh, CRAP. No energy Jenny, that's me. What's the deal? I'm not sure, but I don't like it. Just one of those weeks where you think, what's it all matter? Does my life have any meaning? Will my life ever be simple? Can George Lucas make a good movie again, ever?
The week started sucky with me sewing a cat bed for our kitties. Taking my spare time to sew a comfy, corner shaped cat bed, even with cats on it. But they would have none of it.
I cat troubleshot:
- Spraying it with catnip spray? No good.
- Too much stuffing?
- Too little stuffing?
- Wrong place in the house?
Nothing would convince them. Ungrateful wretches.
Pure Laziness.
Also - in the time I've been gone from the blog, I did essentially no knitting. WHAT? I know. I did essentially NOTHING at all.
Really. You can know this is true as I did essentially no blog reading either. If you have a blog I read and comment on, please don't be sad or mad. I haven't read anyone's blog in week and I am tremendously behind.
I have nothing to say for myself, really. I suspect two things are to blame.
1) I hate working with Summer Tweed, so I am not in a hurry to finish the Ginger sweater. Especially since the edges are chain stitch edges, which take that oh so little bit more effort - effort that in Summer Tweed is excruciating. And I may not start something new until I finish something old.
2) Also, I blame Alias.
I have watched all of Season 1 and four episodes of Season 2 (so don't tell me any spoilers). Let me just say the show is completely addictive. I CANNOT knit while watching this. And I can knit through just about any movie, etc. But not Alias. I can't even knit Clapotis, because of the twisted stitches. If it's not stockinette I can't knit it because the show is that exciting. And I have nothing that is stockinette now, so there you go. And I love the show, I can't stop watching it.
Basically a worthless low energy Jenny watching TV for days and days.
Ok, so I did a little knitting.
I did finish two Dulaan hats, from Norma's great pattern.

Red light, green light.
The only thing I did differently for the green and blue one was to use a provisional cast-on, so in pulling the top and bottom together it was not as bulky.
I used Peruvian Highland Wool, two strands together and used exactly two skeins total for each hat.

Here's a goofy girl modeling it.
End on an up note.
Although this week started out sucky, I have to say things are looking better:
1) I successfully went yarn shopping with a sweet friend and did not buy any yarn. This is huge.
2) I ran twice this week. THIS is really huge.
3) I am successfully keeping Sea Monkeys alive.
4) I looked out in our porch today to see this:

He likes it! Hey, Mikey!

I'm glad you're sort of out of your non-knitting funk and finished the hats! Good job on your self-restraint with not buying yarn. And I love the fabric that you used for the cat bed and the cat seems to like it too!

My cats only like to lay on things they aren't supposed to-and that are the opposite colour.
Hence my black pants and the light coloured cats are a natural attraction!
I think it looks super comfy!

the funk is sure goin' around... but I am glad that the cloud is rising a bit. cat bed = cutest!

Ahh, I'm glad the kitty finally came around. I hate getting behind on my blogs, I'm a little anal about it (and everything else really). It may not seem like much, but getting two hats knit for Dulaan is a great accomplishment! That Carrie is so kooky :)

Yeah! He likes the bed! Now that is a success story.
Great Dulaan hats too--that is such a great project.
Have a good one, Jenny!

I blame Carrie for my current Alias obsession. I am up to the same episode as you S2 ep5. I get so into the show that I can't knit either. So my current lack of knitting progress is all Carrie's fault! Curse you Carrie lol

Congrats on the Dulaan duo...I think that is quite an accomplishment!
hehe...carrie is so cute.

Awww....low energy, high energy, any kind of energy -you are swell in my book! That cat bed looks great. Next time we get together, I'd like to inspect it so I can totally cramp your style and make one for my kitties (with yout permission, of course). Hope to see you soon!

I've never seen Alias - but my 24 obsession is intense. If it makes you feel any better, in the last three days I've watched 11 hours of Band of Brothers (I even watched the documentary! ACK!) and four hours of Empire Falls.
May the funk be lifted. I've got it too.

It's this crappy weather! It makes people feel like hell. Hang in there...the sun should come out soon!

That's a wonderful cat bed! Cats just don't always appreciate what we do for them, do they?? That's why dogs are fun. They get excited about everything. :-)

PS That's the biggest damn cat bed ever!

I am glad that you are feeling a little less funkless. I think I caught it though. Although, I have to say that I have Lupus and thus don't have as much energy as you. I really love to read your blog, glad to see that your energy is coming back. I can live vicariously reading your blog. You are awesome and don't go forgettin it!

This is too funny...I went, "hmmm, I wonder what Ginger is" and clicked on your link and it's THE TANK I JUST FINISHED. Yeah, so it took 2 years off and on. I used stash yarn that I didn't really love since I had heard bad things about Summer Tweed. The good news is that it fits beautifully and doesn't show a bra strap in the back. I think I'll actually be WEARING this. Can you believe it?

OH MY GOD! Is that a Bear on a Bed I see? He likes it! He likes it! :)
Don't be mad at Alias for taking away knitting time. Alias is our friend. We love Alias. and Vaughn. But he's my boyfriend so stay away.

I think the best cure for any funk is knitting! I must admit our household is currently addicted to 24 - we've watched 3 seasons on DVD -- that's 72 hours -- in the last 2 months. It's like Lays potato chips, just cannot watch one...

Feelings...woe woe woe feelings...
oh, oops, sorry...didn't mean to imprint one of the worst songs in history on your brain...and if two hats is a knitting funk for you, girl, then I want to have that funk, because I've got three quarters of a tank to finish and the sun finally came out today and all the cool girls in Montréal are out wearing their finest underwear...
By the way, a watched cat-bed never fills. And your cat knows it. Good job--he looks very comfy-- and he's very cute :-)

It's the Summeritis! It's everywhere! It causes you to goof off and do fun things! Embrace the summeritis with open arms...

I am so happy Alias is catching on. I have been watching since Season 1, Ep. 1. How can people not love that show? Granted, Alias and I had a little falling out this season, but I think we have worked things out, and will continue to go steady.
Screw the cats, I want to sleep on the cat bed. It looks so comfy.
That picture of Carrie is awesome.

What a great picture of Carrie... but wait? What's that in the background? An autographed photo of Fotsy the Famous Chicken? If only she knew how famous she is, maybe she'd quit laying in the leaves behind the coop and take her proper place in the nesting box.

Dude, Carrie looks INSANE in that pic!!! LOL!!!
I {{heart}} DVD TV box sets!! WOOO!!! i hope you are feeling more high energy lately, Jenny :)

Don't worry! I go through episodes where I do no blog reading (and updating, for that matter) and don't even touch the needles. But I know that you still love me! ;-)

First let me say how proud I am of you for not buying any yarn when we went shopping. Second, thank you sooooo much for helping me pick out yarn. I've started on the purse, but I think I might save the bear and elephant for later. Finally, OMG! You're cat is wayyyyyyy cute!!!
