Oxygen masks will drop down soon.
Yes sirree, things are looking a mite different over here at HEK. The old look was stale, so, you know, 2004. But, it will take a bit before things are exactly how we want them. Don't panic. You're a hoopy frood. It's all going to be okay.
So, what's new?
If you look up, the links under the banner have been changed and there is now a Links page, for such things as blogs I read, etc. This page will be much prettier in the near future.
Also, the Gallery is in process again, finally, thanks to help from Sweetie McSweeterton. That girl really is good at making/manipulating web pages. If you need a good web designer, she's your girl. Seriously.
Enough chatter.
Ginger is done:

Of note:
I used the yarn called for, Rowan Summer Tweed, on US 7. It was very stiff and unenjoyable to knit with, but the results are okay. It didn't smell when I washed it, as some have reported.
NBaT
For those who asked, NBaT is a pattern free at Magknits. For those interested, there is a knit-a-long hosted by the fabulous Nona. Hey Nona, can I still sign up???
I promised more stuff, and here it is.
First, I must describe how the knitting was perfectly planned for my trip to Tampa. I finished this headband on the shuttle to the airport:
Don't like the colors now that it's done, but probably will redo it in a solid. Maybe black?
Then, on the flight to Tampa, I finished my sister's socks:

Here they are, at the Salvador Dalí Museum. I love Dalí. His paintings are probably my favorites of all.

Then over the weekend, another flight, and another shuttle trip, and Clapotis was done. I should travel more often!
NBaT!!!!
I have started the ever-popular NBaT, designed by the ever-fabulous Alison.

I am using GGH Goa and am IN LOVE with this yarn. Head over heels. Forever in it's debt. It's great to knit.
The front design will be...
OH NOT SO FAST, THERE, CHET:
That's right, I smell a contest. Stay tuned.
*I still haven't read HP6 yet. It's still sitting on my coffee table. "The anticipation suspense** is killing me. I hope it'll last."
**Oops, I quoted wrongly before...
Of the Dunkin' Variety.
That's what I'm going to eat right now. Back in a minute.
You didn't bring us any?
Er. Instead, MANY MANY things have been finished, a trip to see the little sister was taken, and more house craziness has occurred. So much to say and see. Therefore, I will do these posts in smaller bits, so keep checking back!
Get a move on, sweetheart.
ATTENTION: CLAPOTIS is DONE. [horns, fanfare, sparkly bits...]

And another shot...

Specs: Needles: US 7. Yarn: K1C2 Second Time Cotton. No pattern changes.
And!
The French Market bag in a much better picture, with two cuties, some J. Lo-type sunglasses, and a super big bowling pin. Enjoy, but do so safely.
NEXT TIME: A headwrap, Salvador Dalì, another finished sweater! Can you stand it????
Or, TWIN BDAY DEBAUCHERY...
Well, hello. We are recovering from much good times had by all in the celebration of not one, oh no, but TWO birthdays. We wish Carrieoke and her sis Cathy a happy one.
Here's some twin Karaoke, without which the night would have been totally incomplete:

There are many more pics to show, but I am off for the weekend to see my sister in Tampa, Florida. Please send blue sky vibes. I fear the rain is imminent, however.
Carrie will have more pics on her blog soon, I'm sure. BE SURE to check in. That's all I'll say...
In the meantime, an unfortunately blurry pic of the French Market Bag:

This turned out SO WELL. You guys, the Rowan Cork felted beautifully, and the bag is very sturdy. A GREAT pattern.
Specs: Pattern from Knitty, US 9, Rowan Cork.
I used three skeins of the light purple and two skeins of the dark purple, but I had to knit 7 rounds instead of 9 after the increases ended on the bottom of the bag, or I would have run out of yarn...
Next verse, same as the first.
I started some swatches for another FMB for my friend Ivey, who loves the bright colors.

Gotta fly.
Ok, kids, see you when I get back. Give the ones you love a squinch.

Cavegirl live in time of Earthpast no internet.
Uh, yeah. Whatever. The deal is, I ain't got much internets. The net has been down repeatedly at our home and is shifty. If you have emailed, or commented, and have not gotten a response, I am so sorry. You don't know how sorry. This means I can't buy yarn online at all hours of the night.
I mean, I can't take my tests I have to take online.*
You must have something.
In the meantime, here are some pictures for you.

Adieu, right quick.
Keep your fingers crossed for good internet karma. We could use some. Miss all you guys!
*I did take my little test, and passed. Whew! One year down, ten to go!
