A Little Travellin' Knitting, Please, Paul.

I promised more stuff, and here it is.

First, I must describe how the knitting was perfectly planned for my trip to Tampa. I finished this headband on the shuttle to the airport:

That's my sis's head. She has better hair.

Don't like the colors now that it's done, but probably will redo it in a solid. Maybe black?

Then, on the flight to Tampa, I finished my sister's socks:

Here they are, at the Salvador Dalí Museum. I love Dalí. His paintings are probably my favorites of all.

We thought the Maestro himself
would appreciate the socks-as-snot shot.

Then over the weekend, another flight, and another shuttle trip, and Clapotis was done. I should travel more often!

NBaT!!!!

I have started the ever-popular NBaT, designed by the ever-fabulous Alison.

What is that book doing there?*

I am using GGH Goa and am IN LOVE with this yarn. Head over heels. Forever in it's debt. It's great to knit.

The front design will be...

OH NOT SO FAST, THERE, CHET:

That's right, I smell a contest. Stay tuned.

*I still haven't read HP6 yet. It's still sitting on my coffee table. "The anticipation suspense** is killing me. I hope it'll last."
**Oops, I quoted wrongly before...

I'm lovin' the headband! I knitted on out of some random yarn [the colors are crazy!] and I must say I use it all the time...the random colors match everything! It's great for wet hair, sleepin' in, and bad hair days. i hope you enjoy yours!

Socks as snot. I'm in awe ;-)

Perfect travel knitting! LOVE the headband...does it stretch? I'm scared to make one b/c I think it will lose the shape and fall off my head in public!

I'm diggin the headband...very cute.

I'm sure Dali loved his experience with the socks. haha!

That ggh color is gorgeous.

I think the colors in the headband would look great on you--don't abandon it! Poor little headband...

How can you stand having Harry just sittin there? It's driving me nuts--Harry sits right by my bed just waiting for me to pick him up... and then he gets totally dissed by some boring law boks. So not fair.

No! The headband is gorgeous! Even the colors. Give it a chance. It might grow on you!

How satisfying is it to have been on vacation and finished several projects? I did that myself recently, and it made me a very happy happy girl, I've got to tell you!

Ah. Dali. Quickly becoming my nemesis.

Quick story. We were in a small restaurant up in Cape Cod and next to our table hung THE MOST AWESOME St. George and the Dragon print. It was amazing. And being that it's my husband's name saint (George, not the Dragon) I wanted to find the print.

It's a Dali, as you might have guessed, and I've called and researched it endlessly - including the Dali Museum in Florida - and I haven't been able to find it. It KILLS me.

Anyway. Your knits are fabulous. Glad you trip was such a success - in all ways.

Wow! I see I'm not the only one who's been on a finishing frenzy lately! Everything looks great, and I really like the colors in the headband.

Yea for travel knitting! That's when I get the most done too :-)

nBat????

Hi Jenny--totally lovin' the headband. Now that my hair is growing out, I should make one of these! :) Cute socks too. Love the Dali/socks pic.

Have a good one~

Hey girl...you should travel more. Anytime you want to come to Ellicott City...we are ready for your fine company!

Congrats on all your FO's. They all look great! Love the FMB & can't wait to see your NBaT progress.

OMG You think it's a sock coming out of Dali's nose, but it'snot! Thanks for the laugh.

I hope you didn't give that gorgeous headband to your sis...it would look beautiful with your hair! Oooh, but if you do it again, make it in one of your blue colors. Beautimous (sp?)!

I like the headband! I'm usually not big on headbands, but that one is really cute!

Oh goodness, I love that headband! Travelling makes me an FO machine too. I wish I could do it more...

That last quote was a Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka quote!!!!

:D I seriously can't watch that movie without having chocolate with me. The new one was fantastic, too.

Socks as snot. Love. it. And the headband is so classy, fer sure.

So I can enter the contest, right?!?! :)

Jackie - it does stretch, I'd make a bit less of the garter only part.

Betsy - "NBaT" is a design from MagKnits - see my "what am I knitting" in the upper right for the link.

Lelah - YES! It was a Willy Wonka quote! Yay! Also, I loved the new movie too. Johnny Depp did a fantastic job.

Carrie - Not So Much. ;-)

Dali got to smell the socks! Awesome! The headband is very cute. It's on my long long list of things I want to make but may never really wear.

love the color for NBaT. I still want to make at least 5 more, but I've been waiting to find a new yarn... might have to try the Goa

The lace on that headband is gorgeous...

bwahahaha- socks as snot!

I love your random quotes from pop culture... it is like a game!

Have you seen the new Charlie movie? I liked it actually- surprise!

Your title of this entry was what really cracked me up. A letterman fan from way back I am. Were you always this funny or has Athens has made you funnier still? didn't seem possible, but it is so.

lovin' that headband and cute socks!

Of course, before it was Willy Wonka, it was Oscar Wilde ("The Importance of Being Earnest")!

Cool headband - I like it! Are we going to get photos of the Clapotis? I'd love to see it!

And get crackin' on HP6 - you'll love it!

Hmm... disregard the request for Clapotis photos - I just managed to scroll down. (blushing) Tee hee.

Maybe I should start travelling if that's how much knitting a gal' gets done. I'm lovin' the headband especially the colours. I just finished HP 6. What's an NBaT?

Excellent use of sock as prop. Snot. Very creative.
