You didn't have to love me like you did but you did but you did...

And I thank you!*

Thanks you guys for the birthday wishes! I really appreciate it. We had a great time, but of course there's no place like home, and we will be on our way today. I miss my GA friends, and work buddies, and our animals. And my yarn.**

Stop withholding the knitting.

Here's an update on the Viennese Shrug from the Summer 2005 Interweave Knits. I am over halfway through here. Maybe have the whole thing done when back in GA. Depends how much I sleep on the plane. Here's the back:

And the front:

This is a great pattern. Really well written, and fun to do. I have to admit, I am not sure it looks right on me and I might end up giving it away or something. We'll see when it's done. Also, I think it would look better with certain dresses, etc. Hmmm.

An Epiphany.

So, it's really amazing how much knitting on a certain item I can get done when it's all I have to work on. ;-) Maybe I can be turn over a new leaf - be like all you sorts I admire so much who knit one thing at a time! Just think how much I could accomplish! The world could be my knitting oyster!

Or, I could go start something new. Or, maybe I have...

*A little ZZ Top for you. Aw yeah.
**Um, I know. But I do kinda miss it. There was a bit of yarn withdrawal. There aren't many craft/yarn stores on Oahu. ;-)

Sorry I missed the birthday--but I am so happy to hear that you had a good one, HEJ! :)

Love that shrug!

Wow, what a great time in Hawaii! I can't wait to se it for myself when I visit in October!

Your shrug looks great! It is rewarding to work on one thing and actually finish, isn't it? Actually, I wouldn't know--but it sure seems like it would feel good.

Um, if you decide it's not for you, I'm sure I can think of someone *coughcoughmecough cough* that would wear it.

But I think it looks really good on you. :) And cute shirt!!

[Comes banging in, blowing a birthday horn and throwing confetti all around]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU WHACK MASTAH KNITTER YOU!!!!!!!

For she's a jolly good knitter, for she's a jolly good knitter, for she's a jolly good kniiiiiitter, which nobody can deny!

And let me tell you about that shrug: Man, do I love that shrug. It is super sex-ay! Are you sure it isn't Mr. HEJ's b-day and you didn't knit it so you could wear it for him? 'Cause he's definitely reaping the benefits there. Hee!

P.S. I'm sorry I'm late wishing you happy birthday. That's what I get for not surfing blogs on the weekends!

Am so lovin' that shrug! Super Swaa -nky! I should only knit on one thing at a time and then I may actually FINISH things but I think I have knitting ADD or something. I get bored too easily knitting on the same thing constantly. Can't wait to see the shrug complete :)

Belated but heartfelt best wishes, yo! Woot!

Once again, I am in awe of your knitting mastery. I have had my eye on that pattern for a while now, and I now know I could never ever do it justice after seeing your example. And you DO look good in it!

Have a safe trip home!

I think it looks great!

My new thing is I'm trying to focus on one project... a night.

Oh geez. I missed it. Happy Birthday tooooo yoooooooou!

Niiiiiice shrug :-)

I like it! :)

1. I love your shrug so far!
2. I am so sick of these damn thunderstorms frying my router & modem. This is the 3rd time.
3. Hope you had a fantabulous Birthday!!!!! ;-)

also late wif the birfday wishes. I've been reduced to lurking too much and commenting too little. please tell me how you became such a supastah?! We love you, Jenny (and we don't mean that in a Forrest Gump kind of way). enjoy your hawaii stay. Nice shrug. ::shrugs::

happy belated birthday. :-) the shrug is loverly. I thought about making that one too - I just might...

WOW!!!! you really DO knit at the speed of light!!!! I LOVE how that shrug is looking...I think you've inspired me:>.

I'm working on the Viennese shrug, too, and just finished the first half. I'm having trouble picking up the stitches for the second half - seem to run short, even though I was ever so careful in pulling out my provisional cast-on. Any words of wisdom? Mine is green. Love yours & happy belated birthday!
Yvonne
