Many Miles Away... there's a shadow on the door...

Of a cottage on the shore.. of a dark... Scottish laaaaake....

Oh, the Police when they were cool. Before Sting went all soft. Oh well.

We're Waiting.

Oh, hi. And welcome. Want a tasty beverage?

High Energy Jenny has been Exhausted Jenny. Many crazy nights at work, especially the weekend of Auburn v. Georgia. My ER full of drunk teens, mostly. We all felt pickled, there was so much alcohol around.

However, because I am being really really good and being Knit-one-thing-at-a-time-or-mostly-so Jenny, I have finished twenty-eight TWENTY-NINE of 31 repeats on Madli's shawl!!!! I want to have it done by this weekend, because the husband will be out of town and I can block it on the bed. Priorities, you know.

I'll show a pic when it's all done.

I added a few new things to the Gallery so you might look around there, if'n you have time.

Picture, or we leave.

Ok, I did start a new fun set of mittens from IK Winter 2004. My LYS made me. Well, okay, maybe didn't make me exactly. But they were having a "buy 5 get 5" so, really, I call that coercion, don't you?

The cuffs are corregated ribbing, which I hadn't done before, and I learned the Norweigan purl to be more efficient at it. And it worked. A new way to purl. I love it. Here's a link to the .pdf for the technique: Hi, click me for the .pdf.

I am doing a little at a time on these, but I really am working steadily on Madli. Then, I have a list:

1. My sister's "Stripes Go Round"
2. A shrug my friend Theressa has commanded me wants me to make.
3. A Klaralund for my mom.
4. That turtleneck shrug deal from Scarf Style.
5. Finish Honeysuckle before another winter goes by.

Not necessarily in this order. And subject to change. And there are a FEW knits in the wings, of course... I'll tell ya, though, it's pretty cool how fast things go if you do just one at a time, huh? Pretty neat trick, that.

the mittens are looking great! seems like FI is making its way around the blog lately!

btw, i *really* wish i could be a better one-project knitter. i know how much faster things go, but it's just so hard to commit like that!

The mittens are beautiful! I must do fair-isle and soon. Right after I finish all the Aran's I've got planned for this winter.

I used to be a one project kind of girl and now I'm all over the place. Not so much fun lately. I'm too scatterbrained to concentrate though.

Good luck finishing up Madli - can't wait to see it!

I just love those colors in the mittens! I know they will be beautiful! And we can't wait to see Madli!

Love the mitten. I'm starting to become a one-project-gal. Funny how much quicker things get done when you only concentrate on one project.

Sorry bout all the drunken teens.

I miss yooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

The mittens are fantastic, and I can't wait to see the shawl in all its glory.

Drunken football fans are the worst. Perhaps the only time that your job and my old waitressing job have something in common. :)

The Police used to be my favourite band! How much I loved their music!!!!

Hey, I'm making that shrug thing from Scarf Style. It's sitting in a bag right now until I get motivated to work on it again, but it's there!

I am definitely a member of the 'knit one thing at a time' club. I have excellent self control. :) J/k. What it really is, though, is that I just know myself too well. If I had more than one project going at a time, I'd wake up in a year with a house full of yarn and WIPs and sadly, no FOs. And that's mostly the reason I knit, for the FOs. Sure, I love the process of knitting, but I REALLY love the FOs. :)

P.S. I love your bloggy blog.
