Madli. Finally.
Without further ado...
I present Madli's Shawl:

This was really fun to knit. From Interweave Knits Summer 2004, by Nancy Bush. Knit in Rowan Kidsilk Haze, color Trance, on US 4. Click here to see it big and laid out.
I loved loved loved knitting this, and I loved wearing it. It's actually pretty warm! And yet so light. Pin courtesy of this good friend.
Notes: Really not many. When you knit the bobbles, do them very very very loosely. That's about it.
And also.
I succeeded in dyeing the yarn from my old brown sweater. I'll call it "Resurrected Sweater" for now. Here it is:

Kool-aid "Black Cherry" was what I used. I don't think this yarn had been dyed, I think it was brown off the sheep, so it really took color nicely.
What's all this about SPINNING?
Well, really, you knew it was a matter of time, didn't you. Yes, you all did. I had to try it. I just had too, if just to see if I could. You know how it is.
So I got me a bottom-whorl spindle and some bright blue $3.00 roving and went at it. I made a tiny ball of singles to ply and was working on another tiny ball, when THIS happened:

I am Bear. I am the Destroyer off all things fuzzy.
MUST he be a stereotype? Really. Hi, I'm a kitteny-cat and I love small balls of yarn. Haven't we heard this? Hasn't it been done and done again? Dipshit. I'm disappointed in him. No originality at all.
Also no remorse. I can't bear to show a picture. More will be spun soon, I'm sure.
Stash update: One item remains. Check out the Stash page to see! If not sold by the early next week, it goes on ebay. Thanks so much to everyone who bought/took in yarn!!!!

Madli is lovely -- and what an elegant photo of her. It could only be improved by not having cropped out your head!
(Though I totally understand bad head days.)

Beautiful Madli!!
And that yarn from the sweater looks awesome. Love that color!

Madli is so pretty! Congrats on an FO well done! As for Bear, he's just pretending to be a lemming. I can't get my cat Muffin off the lemming thing. She mauled the yarn I spun and now carries it around the house like a prized fresh-kill.
Happy Friday!

Amazing Madil - I love it!

That shawl is just gorgeous. Go you!
Isn't Black Cherry the same flavour Anne Marie did her recycled yarn in? You guys are going to be all matchy-matchy. That might be kind of cute, actually.

Gorgeous doesn't even begin to describe it - just lucious! The color is truly beautiful, but the knitting - breathtaking. Can you tell I love it! Mwah! Where it well, my friend.

Madli is lovely. Some day I'll get the courage to tackle a mohair lace shawl like that. Nice work!

Oh Madli, how I love thee. How I would've ripped you out of HEJ's hot little hands if I thought I could get away with it.
JUST KIDDING. sort of.
You are such a talented schmoo. and that yarn looks beautiful, no country rose in these parts.

P.S. Bear is a bad schmoo.

I am madli impressed. Wowza! PS: I feel your kitty pain. My two (2) cats ripped seven (7) holes in my KSH Birch (!). Remember, it can always get worse. Cheers to your loverly reclaimed yarn and spectacular finished shawl!

I'm just in awe of madli. So beautiful! The dyeing went really well too.

Okay, I'm an idiot...I've been complaining about Birch and the rectangular version needing to be clearer and blah blah blah what am I going to do with that KSH, and you go make, duh, Madli. I have that pattern. I bow to you. Yours is awwwwwesome. I love it!
Freaking cat. Good thing he's good looking...

The shawl is beautiful. I love the color and it looks great with that outfit. I've always been suspicious about the wearability of the beautiful lace shawls everyone seems to be knitting, but you pull it off beautifully.

Love the shawl! I also have a yarn loving and destroying black cat (Chaos), so I can relate.

It's beautiful and you make it sound so easy.

Madli is SO beautiful!!! I hope Bear doesn't get anywhere near that thing or he will fashion a nest out of it or a kitty parachute or something. He's a lil' stinker.
