He said, "shut up!" he said, "shut up!"

Oh God can't you keep it down....

FIVE RANDOM THINGS:

1. Olympic Ice Skating TV commentators might be the most BITCHY people on earth. Next to Diving commentators. For the love of Pete, I wish I could watch ice skating with music only so I don't have to listen to those assholes. Good God. Last night the woman commentator said something like, "The Chinese can do choregraphy, but they just never skate technically like the Russians." Oh, like THAT isn't a huge generalization. Give me a break. Or give me a non-comment channel. I'd PAY for that and I don't even pay for cable NOW.

2. OOOOH! Looky! A tractor!

In my driveway:

Outstanding.

Actually, it does mean they might be done within a couple weeks, the flooding will be over, and we can landscape our front yard. This is good.

3. The jaywalkers are DONE. At 11:47 pm just a bit ago. I squeaked in just under the wire to Cara's nightmare-knit-a-long. ihopeiwinihopeiwinihopeiwin. winwinwin.

4. HEJ has decided to essentially cut out the caffeine in her life.

You heard right.

I've been a super soda drinker since about age 12 despite my parents trying to stop me. It's time though. I've been 7 days now, with only ONE 12 ounce caffeine soda a day. I'm still high energy, don't you worry. So far.

Maybe this is why I went off on the Olympic TV people? Hmmmm.

5. One of my partner's wife had a baby, so I work an extra shift early this am. Must go have a lie down. Think sleepy thoughts for HEJ. 7 am is SO. Early.

But extrashift=extramoolah=spinningwheelio. Wheeeee! That kind of math is GOOD. ;-)

Lovin' those Jaywalkers. I may have to knit a pair before it's all over with!

You're IN IT TO WIN IT Baybee!!!!! Fingers crossed! L, C

And if your title is a nod to Voices Carry by 'Til Tuesday I am completely in love with you. Seriously. I don't lie about these things.

Whoa, that's TOO WEIRD!!! I gave up caffeine just about two weeks ago, too. I've been drinking coffee every morning for ten years, in addition to tons of tea, soda and chocolate so it's OUT now. I can't believe that you started it at the same time. I'm still getting used to it, but generally feel good and glad that I cut it out. You can do it!

Pretty socks! Win win win! ;)

I think a lot os commentators have that problem. I watch hockey all of the time, and there are so many times where I just shake my head, not believing that they just said that on television - sometimes racist, sexist, and sometimes, just plain stupid things...

"She said wheel!" "No, she didn't!" "Yes, she did! She said spinning wheel!" "Shut up!" "No, you shut up!!"

"HEJ is getting a spinning wheel!!"

Sorry, couldn't resist!

The week I went without coffee remains the worst week of my life. Glad yours is better than mine!

High Ener-Jay Walkers! They're beeyooteefull!

Happy Caffeine Abandonment '06. It'll be so worth it.

Giving up caffeine? So. Brave.

Your Jaywalkers are purdy. See, you are a sockapaWINNER!

I can't stand the commentators. The other night all one guy did was bitch about the sit spins. shutupalready!!

Can't wait to see what you get for a wheel! Wheeee your gettin' a wheel!

Good luck with the caffiene...with all the money you save from buying sodas, you could buy another spinning wheel. Like a spare.

PS You said, "for the love of Pete". I'm telling Petey, who would likely agree with you about the Olympic people.

Great job on the socks!

eck! I just got a sympathetic caffeine withdrawal headache just hearing about you trimming down...bravo! For the love of pete, ;)that would be harder than ciggies!

yay for saving money for fiber-y goodness!

PS Gauge was not my friend on the Knit (sh)It shrug...I've been smote by the knitting gods for my cowl-y arrogance ;)

I read this right as my coffee finished brewing, felt vaugely guilty, then not. I quit before, and all agreed I was all the bitchier for it. Oh well.

But hey, nice Jaywalkers!

Molly ( http://www.whistlinginthedark.net/knitting/ ) quit caffeine too. I quit it in 1997. I'm still alive and have fewer breast problems and heart palpitations. You can do it. ...And about your title. I used to think that that song was called "voice is scary" and that's what I would sing. :)

HEJ off caffeine but still High Energy!?!?! You betcha!

HEJ with no caffeine! I swear, I am your polar opposite. Just call me Low Energy Jenny.

Those ice skating commentators are too much. Dick Button always has a bug up his butt about something (this year, it's the 'terrible position' when the skaters go into a death spiral, I swear, he mentioned it every damn time). I don't think they have Peggy Fleming on anymore, do they? She was just as bad. I cannot figure out for the life of me, if we all hate them, why are they still on? Maybe we need a petition.

Wow! only one soda a day!! Look at the resolve. Probably good to ween yourself off now (wink wink nudge nudge) :-)

<3 ya!

I totally agree about those damn mouthy judges. The guy skating to James Bond would have been cool if they didn't talk through the freaking music. yes and the comment comparing the chinese and russians was really over the top annoying. The only good thing about them is scotty and how excited he gets when someone lands a jump!

Good luck with the caffine!

Yes, the commentators are your average bitchy queens and could they BE more obsessed with the Russians?

Sweetie, we ALL hate Sandra Bezic (bitchy commentator). If I had a ball gag and stun gun...Figure skating fans are thankful, if that's the word, she only comes around every four years.

Nice socks!

Dear Super Focused and Productive HEJ,

Spinning. Wheel.
Hell Yes.

Love,
SuperAnxious.com

I totally agree with you about the ice-skating commentary. I've always watched a fair bit of ice-skating and I don't remember them being as catty as they are this year. It's becoming almost unwatchable - I've taken to throwing yarn at the tv when it gets really bad. Maybe they'll be less harsh on the women, but I doubt it...
Nice looking Jaywalkers!

I feel so virtuous. I never got on the soda bandwagon, so I've never had to give it up.

Um, does coffee have caffeine in it? :-}

Word up, though, HEJ...faster treadling does not equal good results. I speak from painful, Olympic-level experience. Stick to wine. ;-)

Only one coffee a day will keep the doctor away. (Which is funny, considering your a doctor. Hee hee!) And no sodas! Sodas bad! Me no drink sodas! Keep going on that caffeine cutdown. Believe me, it makes a huge difference.

I'm with you on the ice skating commentators. What makes me crack up the most, though, is when they make those "OOOOH!" sounds when someone falls or slips on the ice. It's like they actually enjoy it, those sadistic mofos. Hehe.

P.S. I've been humming "Voices Carry" all day and I blame it entirely on you, Miss J. Hee hee!

actually, i think that's a hopto, i.e. combination backhoe / loader, used for small excavation type work. i can't tell for sure; the picture is dark on my monitor.

Seriously, I think they PUT som'n in Coke to make it truly ADDICTIVE shit! sooo gooood. I'm currently off the Coca-cola, but I could so easily get hooked again.

I thought I was being oversensitive when I heard the commentators go on about 'the Chinese' and 'the Russians' but apparently not so. Love your pretty Jaywalkers and that mitten looks fabulous!

Hi, it's your insane friend trying to get a comment pending message so I can figure this out.
