You're out of touch

I'm out of time... but I'm out of my head when you're not around...

Hello there. Some Hall and Oates for you. Sorry we have been away from around here, but things have been so busy in the HE Household.

First and foremost - High Energy John and Jenny are in the midst of a crazy fertility-test-tube-hopefully-not-alien-baby-making situation. Wish us luck for tomorrow, as the crazyness starts to go down in the am. We'll keep you posted.

Unless you're giving birth to knitting we don't care.

In that case, here is one finished Sockapaloooza sock. ROCK ON.

These are Mountain Colors Bearfoot, in color "Obsidian", and the pattern is "Openwork Rib" from Sensational Knitted Socks.

People, I have all but ONE TOE left. If I didn't have to get up early, they'd be done. They will be finished before the deadline. All of you can breathe a sigh of relief. You know you need to. You were worried, just a little bit. Admit it.

Whatever.

And here's the back of Loll:

Looks about the same. Not too exciting, my dears. But I do have that back bound off now, and I have also began the left front. For the SECOND TIME.

Why did I have to start over? Because I forgot the fringe is on size 8's and the rest on size 10s. The fringe looks too open and floppy on the bigger size. Frogging that fringe was no picnic. Loll has been set aside, just briefly, so it can think about what it has done. It can come out when it realizes it's error.

Sad bit here.

Also, as we are approaching Maryland Sheep and Wool, I must tell you that I will not be going. I am really sad about this, as it was so much fun last year, and since then I've met even more people I want to meet in person! And I will miss seeing the new friends I met in 2005.

But, in order to be off work for fertility treatments, I have to work the weekend of the 6th and 7th of May. Bummer. You guys, fondle some fiber for me, okay?

To keep my mind off missing you all, I have recently treated myself to sock yarn:

newsockyarnsapr06.jpg

The plant is a Shamrock that belonged to my late father-in-law, Richard. I of-the-black-thumb am very proud it is doing so well. Richard would be pleased.

The two most lefthand yarns are from Spunky Eclectic, the middle and next to the right are from Dicentra Designs, and the bright yellow goodness is from the fabulous Mama-E. Handpainted, every one. Be still my heart.

ahahahaaa Hall and Oates! Woohoo! Thanks for the trip down memory lane; I hope I don't have that song in my head all night. :) The shaping on Loll is gorgeous. LOVE it. I just finished my first sock (singular) with Bearfoot and it fits so beautifully that there was no hesitation to cast on the second sock. I'm sure your sock pal will be happy! Finally, best wishes with the fertility treatment. I'm sending pregnant-woman-fairy-dust to you right now. :)

Best wishes for the new treatment! And your sock is looking very spiffy.

Hall and Oates freakin' rule!!!

Ditto on the pregnant-woman-fairy-dust! I hope all our collective wishes take effect. Great color on Loll. It's worth the misbehaving *&#$@ after all.

Best of luck on the fertility treatments! So sorry we'll miss you at MD$W!

Your sock turned out so awesome. You know how much I already love adore and wished it were mine...the fabulous Loll. Can't wait to see this Dicentra Designs yarn knitted up. I like this colorway. On their site I can't find yardage for this yarn.

zzzzzoooooOOOOOOOOOOooooooooowwwwwwAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa (sending good vibes)

I have been lurking at your blog for a while, but this is (I think) the first time I've commented to commisserate...I have a long time before I can ever go to MDSW since my son was born that first weekend in May, and damn him, he wants his mother for his birthday. Motherhood (and your attempts at it) supercedes mist things, even awesome Fiber Festivals. Good luck on your treatments, and have fun with your new yarn!

Oh, Hall & Oates. How I love thee. But not as much as I love that sock. I'm your sock pal, right?!?!?!? hahaha.

I'm thinking about you and John today!

Good luck today, I'll be thinking of you!

Sorry we'll miss each other this year in MD but trust me you won't be forgotten.

Sending you POSITIVE VIBES, J!!!!

Best of luck with the treatments!!! All kinds of crazy vibes are winging your way.

And we will miss you at MDS$W. I'll fondle lots of yarn for you (but I may sneak in some fondling for myself, too).

And I love Loll!

Between the sock and the sock yarn, I need a lie-down. I'm swooning.

Oh honey! I'm thinking of you every minute!!!! I will so miss you at Maryland but you've got a GREAT excuse. I'm home all day today. Can I call you?

Love that bearfoot...so lucky I have some in the stash!

love the sock yarn...and while you will be missed at Sheeps...my heart will be with you and wishing for a happy success...

PS I have Hall and Oates' Greatest hits on my ipod...LOVE THEM!!

Wow - lots of stuff going on with you! Good luck with the fertility treatments. We'll miss you in Maryland, but I'm sure we all understand!

Beautiful yarn. :-)

How exciting... prayers, prayers, happy thoughts for your treatments!

You are such a good person, for giving away Bearfoot socks. I love that stuff. I would hoard it if it were more readily availible 'round these parts. You're the bombest sock pal (Hey! I can say that with authority)!

Best of luck with the treatment!!

The sock yarn is to die for. To. Die. For.

lots of luck and love and stuff!!! xoxo MJ

OMG good luck with everything. I really hope there's a tiny energy jenny or john on the way soon! Even though I will miss you at MDS&W - its totally worth it! :)

More baby vibes coming your way....got 'em? I'll keep sending them. Wishing you and your hubby all the best and thinking happy baby thoughts for you.

Good luck Jenny. We'll miss you in Maryland!

Goods luck with the fertility stuff!

Best of luck to you both! And your sock looks great :o)

I read your blog pretty frequently and just wanted to say good luck with the fertility stuff. Don't get discouraged and don't lose hope. I will put you on the prayer list, because I SWEAR it works :)

Gah! I'm just catching up on blog reading. I hope everything went well! You're in my thoughts!

Thinking good thoughts for you!

Also, beautiful sock yarn!

Socks and Loll so far are GORGEOUS! And I'm drooling over the gorgeous sock yarn stash. I'm thinking hard on happy healthy baby for the High Energys! I know y'all will have little ones to love soon.

We are going to miss you in MD!

Good luck with everything- saying a little prayer.

Wishing you all the best w/your treatments! I'll miss seeing you at MDS&W!
